S-TEC 3100 Granted STC Approval for Piper PA-32

Genesys grows STC list for its advanced digital autopilot

Mineral Wells, TX (July 22, 2018) –– Genesys Aerosystems, leading manufacturer of autopilots and stability augmentation systems for fixed and rotary wing aircraft, announces today that it has earned FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval of the S-TEC 3100 on the Piper PA-32.

The 3100, which is currently certified on the Cessna 177, 182, 210 and Beechcraft Bonanza A35/36, is a 2-axis digital autopilot (3-axis available on some models) that brings enhanced features such as automatic trim, envelope protection and alerting, one button straight and level recovery, indicated airspeed hold and altitude preselect (requires baro input), just to name a few. With the mixed cockpit aftermarket, the 3100 also supports many 3rd party EFIS displays as well as integrating its own internal ADHRS should an EFIS not be installed.

“We are excited to expand the S-TEC 3100 STC approval to include the Piper PA-32. PA-32 owners have an upgrade path that can reuse those existing S-TEC servos, many came from the factor with our 55X, or the option of a new installation if our servos aren’t present,” said Jamie Luster, Director of Sales and Marketing.

Putting safety and protection first, when the 3100 flight director is engaged the system constantly monitors the aircraft flight envelope. Should the pilot exceed the envelope, the system will give aural alerts until the situation is corrected. When the autopilot is engaged, the system will command the aircraft to remain in the flight envelope. Pricing for those with an existing S-TEC system starts at $9,995 and the full kit (2-axis) is $19,995.

“Our development hangar is full of airframes going through various stages of the STC process for the 3100. It seems like every other week, one aircraft leaves and another one takes its spot. We plan to be earning a new STC every few weeks at our current pace.” Luster added.

• King Air 90/100 Series
• King Air 200/300 Series
• Cessna 303
• Baron/Travel Air 55, 56, 58 & 95 Series
• Cessna P210 & A – J
• Cessna 414, 421 and 425
• Piper PA-46 series

Those are expected to be completed in the coming months.
