Moog Announces Genesys Cockpit Featured In Grob TP-X Cobra Trainer

Mineral Wells, TX (Sept 05, 2024) – Genesys Aerosystems, a Moog company, announced today that its Genesys Avionics Suite is featured in the newly announced Grob Aircraft France (GAF) Cobra trainer aircraft.

After five years of development in complete secrecy, GAF has unveiled a new aircraft model featuring a full Genesys Aerosystems glass cockpit as part of the Genesys Avionics Suite.  GAF’s new Cobra is an advanced, high-performance, single-engine turboprop designed specifically for military pilot training.

Genesys Cobra Cockpit Avionics

The Genesys Aerosystems cockpit suite of avionics has been in service in Grob’s G-120TP turboprop trainer for over a decade.  Genesys flight displays are FAA-certified in over 740 aircraft types and are in operation with over 35 military training and special-mission fleets around the world, including both, the US Navy and US Army.  Genesys Aerosystems produces a full line of avionics specially designed for demanding military and special mission applications.

The Genesys Avionics Suite in the new GAF Cobra includes MIL-STD 3009 NVG-compatible flight displays with integrated area navigation, software-defined communication and navigation radios, sensors, a voice warning master caution system, and digital autopilot. The system includes many features optimized for military training, including MIL-STD environmental qualification, MIL-STD 1787B aircraft symbology, digital flight recording, incremental symbology progression, and advanced safety features like synthetic vision and embedded TAWS. Additionally, user-definable airspace and obstructions, customizable alerting, avionics open standards integration, plus Genesys’s patented Open Architecture System Integration Symbology (OASIS) enable future growth and obsolescence management.

GAF Cobra

“Genesys is proud to collaborate with Grob Aircraft France on their new flagship Cobra trainer,” says Genesys General Manager Paul Stoelting. “With almost 20 years of service in global military trainers, our system is highly optimized for this mission, and our open architecture enables future growth, including Live Virtual Constructive Training and interfacing with an array of special-mission subsystems. Genesys is a perfect match to support the Cobra in a wide variety of training and special-mission applications.”
