Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2018 was indeed great, and that your 2019 will be even better. As for things around here at Genesys Aerosystems, 2018 was certainly a very busy year – so busy in fact that my blog series didn’t get the attention it deserved. But, I’ll get to that in a minute.
As for what kept us so busy in 2018; where do I start? Well, probably the biggest item on the list is the tremendous response we’ve had with the introduction of our new S-TEC 3100 digital flight control system. Pilots love it. In fact, we just received our 116th aircraft model STC approval for the 3100. So if you’re flying a single or twin – chances are pretty good we’ve got an STC for it. And if we don’t have it today, there are more STCs coming throughout 2019 so please keep checking our website to say updated.
Speaking of STCs, we’ve received significant interest from Bell 505 owners, and have started work on an STC for the popular Heli-SAS autopilot/stability augmentation system aboard the new-generation Jet Ranger X light helicopter. We’re expecting to get the FAA’s nod this summer. Stay tuned for an update blog soon.
While I started with the autopilot update, I don’t mean to slight the recent successes of our entire family of avionics including our integrated display units (IDUs). In fact, just last October our EFIS was part of a major OEM program win.
Genesys Aerosystems will provide a new-generation avionics suite including four, Level-A certified primary and multi-function displays, digital autopilot and other equipment for the Indonesian Aerospace CN-235 utility/special missions twin-turboprop. We’re very proud to be part of this exceptionally capable aircraft.
Thanks to their extremely ruggedized design, our electronic display units remain the commercial off-the-shelf EFIS displays of choice for special missions aircraft and helicopter manufacturers around the world. Stay tuned: we’ve got more huge EFIS news to share throughout 2019.
Of course, it takes great people to develop and support our array of industry-leading avionics. To meet our growing need for talent, we’ve been very busy hiring the best and brightest to join the Genesys Aerosystems team. And speaking of hiring, if you, or someone you know is looking for an exciting opportunity with an aviation industry leader, check out the current opportunities: https://genesys-aerosystems.com/careers.
Phew…so I guess you can see why my popular blog series has been forced into hiatus. I have really appreciated all of the notes and messages from you all asking about the blog series. I really enjoy doing them and I’m glad so many of you enjoy reading them.
So with that being said, I’m very happy to announce that my team and I have rededicated ourselves to getting the blog series back on track. We’ve got a great calendar of topics to cover and I hope you’re looking forward to them as much as we are.
Until next time, fly safely,
Jamie
