SUMMARY
As an Engineering Intern on the Genesys Aerosystems engineering team, you will get to provide individual technical contribution in the development of advanced avionics and flight control systems. This internship will be full time in the Summer of 2025. You will learn to research, develop, design, and test electronic components, products, and systems. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, responsive, flexible and able to succeed within a highly collaborative and fast paced environment by performing the following duties, under the supervision and mentorship of senior engineers:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design and development of complex avionics systems and autopilots and their flight control laws for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
- Develop software for advanced avionics and flight control systems
- Develop new testing applications or modify existing tools to support integration activities
- Perform software/system integration activities to verify proper functionality of new designs.
- Creation of technical documentation.
- Fabrication and debug of prototype electrical, mechanical, and/or RF hardware.
- Flight test of our autopilot systems and tuning of gains for the control laws.
- Flight test of other company products.
- System and subsystem analysis and requirements specification.
- System and subsystem modeling and performance analysis.
- Certification project support: TSO and STC projects
- Test and debug of prototype electrical, mechanical, and/or RF hardware.
- Test and measurement using standard test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, temperature probes, vibration probes.
- Organization and correlation of test data in electronic format utilizing spreadsheets, word processing and database software.
- You may also conduct research and prepare reports based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:
- Interest in Software Development for avionics and flight control systems. or
- Interest in Flight Control Law/Autopilot Development, Electromechanical, Electrical or Mechanical Design. Or
- Interest in Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechanical and Computer Design.
- Interest in the Aviation industry and FAA certification.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related engineering degrees.
- For software interns, experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Real-Time Embedded Systems, Flight Controls and Dynamics, Control Systems, Matlab, LabVIEW.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Computer skills, familiarity with basic shop tools and/or machine equipment, and an aptitude and understanding of basic electrical, mechanical, optical, or software engineering principles. Requires technical writing and documentation skills.
- Pilot experience highly preferred.
