S-TEC Autopilot Q&A

With a list of fantastic workload reducing and safety-enhancing capabilities like automatic trim, Envelope Protection/Alerting, Straight and Level recovery, the ability to fly precision and missed approaches, and a lot more, it’s no surprise that the new-generation Genesys Aerosystems S-TEC 3100 digital flight con

Where have all the aviation professionals gone?

You can hardly visit a professional aviation website or attend an industry event without reading something about the gloomy state of the aviation industry’s future.

YouTube: The go-to place for all things aviation.

I can’t tell you how many aviation tradeshows I’ve attended over the years: Oshkosh, Sun ‘n Fun, AERO, NBAA, EBACE and all the rest – they’re all starting to blur together. Not that I don’t enjoy going. Getting to talk to all of the current and prospective customers that come to our booth to “test fly” our EFIS and autopilots is the best part of any event.

When it comes to autopilot STCs, the devil is in the details

There’s been a lot said recently about the process aircraft manufacturers go through to get new models certified. Some of it is accurate. Some (most) of it is so much hot air dispensed by people who have never flown an airplane. But, such is today’s media.

How technology helps old aircraft get better.

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Having never owned an “old dog,” I have to figure they’re right. Servos. If it ain’t broke…don’t fix it

Do you know the story behind the first autopilot...

In looking at the current capabilities autopilots are bringing to the market, such as envelope protection and straight and level mode, I had to ask myself... "When was the first autopilot invented, and who was brave enough to be the first to take his hands off the controls?"  So I went in search of the answer and found an awesome story that I would like to share with you.
